Day 16

I have found quite a lot of strange and exciting wildlife in Greece including Terrapins and stripy-legged shield bugs. However, this find by Hazel was probably the most spectacular.

We searched the Internet to discover that it was a Hoopoe bird. It is native to Nigeria but migrates north to Europe and Asia in summer and has even been recorded as far as north as the Shetland Islands! It is also the national bird of Israel.
